How Moon Phases Work: A Less Conplicated Rundown
Ima keep it 1000 with y’all:
I literally HATE peoples interpretations for moon phases. Shit is confusing. All those big words. I don’t wanna hear that shit. I’ll give y’all the rundown.
For 03/19/2023
I feel like people don’t know this:
Full Moon: Sun opposite Moon
New Moon: Sun conj Moon
For the moon phases works for each Moon sign and transit I have an Extended Moon Patreon article for that as a guide that will only be exclusive on there: https://www.patreon.com/posts/63733120
My eclipse article can be found here: https://www.taisoleil.com/articles/2023/6/22/hntyl0mfc69j8tqg9m0z0x7ay4j02i
New Moon: Do not start anything, but idealize what you want.
It’s a new life! A new beginning. However you wanna go about things is completely up to you. But, take in that energy of freshness. Start thinking about what you wanna do when you complete everything before the New Moon. A new beginning is on the rise.
Waxing Crescent: What do you want to do? Start planning.
You had something you were meaning to see where it goes but haven’t seen how it will actually go because you were doing other shit? Now’s the time to start doing your research so you can put that shit together. Nothing can become of itself if you’re not looking up the ins and outs, pros and cons of something. Get right! This may actually even help you set realistic goals that you want to accomplish so you won’t end up disappointed later.
First quarter: Start
Alright you did all that planning, get your ass to work and start. “It seems like nobody wanna work these days” 😂😂😂 all jokes aside no it’s time to try and see how things go! This isn’t to say it’ll be perfect the first time, but dipping your toe in let’s you know how this makes you feel. This will also help with the things you want to work on when we get to to the Waxing Gibbous.
Waxing Gibbous: Work on the idea
This is the best time to jot down your progress and see how you want to implement things in a better way. It’s okay to tweak some things during this time so when the Full Moon comes in you can feel more whole. If things still aren’t perfect, the Full Moon can serve as a time for you to find answers for what you’re looking to.
Full Moon: See how everything has manifested
Anything after the New Moon is the cause, the the Full Moon is the impact. This is the bright moon phase where you see everything for what it is. Even truths can get revealed to you so you can know how to handle situations further. This isn’t the time to act, but understand what needs to be tweaked for the Waning Gibbous.
Waning Gibbous: See how this fits into your daily schedule. Is it practical?
This is where you make sure this idea can fit into your daily life as much as possible. During the Waxing Gibbous stage you tweaked the idea. Now, you’re refining in a general sense based on what you learned from the Full Moon, and to make sure this idea withstands the test of time.
Third Quarter: Refine the plan/let go
Everything that hasn’t worked either needs to be refined or discarded to be into a better concept. Not everything you did can come with you. This is a time to see where external factors have impacted you or your ideas during this time. Anything like cleaning in any sort of way can help you see clearly and make sure that you’re not letting baggage hold you back.
Waning Crescent: What could you have done better
This is a moment to go over the good and the bad to see what you can be doing moving forward. The Moon, just like us, has its ups and downs. This is a moment to really reflect on what the two extremes meant so you can finally find middle ground on this part of your life.
Remember, the moon phases after the New Moon is the cause, the moon phases after the Full Moon are the effect. Keep that in mind so you can move in your best light.

Beauty Routine with the Moon 🌙
Showers are Lunar Ruled. So how you clean and cleanse yourself is going to be important. This is a piece of the beauty routines I do to recharge my energy:
I always think of water as the holder of memory, but also as a cleanser. I program my intention when I’m just under the water.
Whatever fragrance I use, I correlate the scent to what I want to bring into my life (Lavender = relaxation, Vanilla = Sweetness) and I come up with an affirmation to use and repeat it as I wash.
During the rinsing process, I think about what I’ve been doing thaf doesn’t match my intention, and think about the soap and water carrying it off my body.
Lotion up and reaffirm the affirmation, or add to it based on whatever scent property you’re using.
For hair:
Same steps, but for the conditioner part I use that to program the intention on my body like how conditioner supports the hair even after rinsing with its results. You can put your leave in and reprogram/strengthen the intention.
Things you can add:
Essential oils on the bathroom floor is going to open the space up scent wise through the steam
Hair holds memory so shaving can be your bodily reset, as well as exfoliation.
